Artists - Paula Bryant
Paula was born in 1971 in Newfoundland and raised in the tiny outport town of New Perlican, Trinity Bay. She moved to St. John’s in 1989 to attend Memorial University of Newfoundland. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial, she went on to complete a Bachelor of Education degree at Queen’s University , Kingston, Ontario. She currently resides in Holyrood and works full time with the Canada Revenue Agency. Art has always been a part of Paula’s life. She loved to draw as far back as she can remember. Unfortunately, growing up in a small outport town, she never had the opportunity to take any formal art classes. It was not until 1996, that she took her first art class through the Continuing Studies Program at Memorial. Since then, she has earned a diploma of Art through correspondence studies and most recently, she has studied at the Ed Roche School of Art. Though she has dabbled in several different mediums, her medium of choice is acrylics. She is most passionate about drawing and painting Newfoundland images. Like most Newfoundland artists and Newfoundlanders in general, she is very proud of her Newfoundland heritage and hopes that she is able to reflect that in her work.
