Artists - Barbara Brazil
Barbara Brazil is a primarily self taught artist from Gander. She is married to Paul Brazil and has two young sons, Matthew and Alex. Her love of painting has been ongoing for many years, but really blossomed two years ago when she and other local artists (affectionately known as "The group of eight" ) began studying and painting with Bridget Pardy in Lewisporte. Barbara says, "That was a turning point for me because it helped build my confidence and let me realize that everyone has their own style." She draws inspiration from old photos, everyday life and her children. The delicate balance of rugged landscapes, vibrant colors and happy images show up in much of her work.
