Newfoundland Artists - Limited Edition Prints
Diane Bartlett-Greening is a self-taught artist born and currently residing in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. At an early age Diane showed artistic promise and was encouraged by teachers and family to pursue her artistic abilities. In those days art supplies were difficult to find in Newfoundland. Diane's mother after some research was able to " order away" for the necessary materials. After replacing crayons with pastels, charcoal and water colors, Diane was taught by Tess Ewing (The Ewing Gallery) how to use the materials.
Diane completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Sociology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. This education and the experience of living with other students in St.Johns taught Diane about the interests and diversity of the people in Newfoundland. Returning to Corner Brook and helping her parents with their small craft business led Diane to paint in acrylic on slate rock, Christmas balls and on canvas.
Presently, Diane works full-time and with her husband and is raising their two young sons. A love of family, animals and Newfoundland culture rarely leaves Diane's mind as she finds time to paint the interaction of the people and animals of Newfoundland.
